Know the basics

  • Your file is automatically converted into a PDF. This helps employers easily view it.
  • Let employers find you or keep your resume hidden. The profile settings menu page explains more about these privacy settings.

File formats and best practices

These tips help employers access a clear copy of your resume.

Don't

  • Scan your resume or take a photo of it.
  • Use photos or graphics.
  • Use two-column layouts.

Signing in or creating an account

Is this a new account?

  • Remember to verify your account.
  • Sign in using the same address each time.

Is this an existing account?

  1. Sign in to your account.
  2. Open your Profile.
  3. Click or tap the Resume tab to get started.

Uploading a resume file

For new or existing accounts, follow these steps:

  1. Click or tap Upload your resume.
  2. Choose a document stored on your phone or desktop computer.
  3. Preview the resume.
  4. Click or tap Upload this resume. You can also upload a different file.
Tip: Complete your contact details, preferences, and profile anytime. This will help employers find you, and we use it to match you with jobs better.

Uploading your LinkedIn profile to Indeed

  1. Sign in to LinkedIn.
  2. Follow the instructions on how to save your profile as a PDF.
  3. Sign in to your Indeed account.
  4. Go to your Resume tab and click or tap Upload resume.
  5. Select your LinkedIn PDF file from your computer.
  6. Review your resume and select Upload this resume.
Important: Downloading your profile as a PDF isn’t available on the LinkedIn mobile app. It’s also only available for users whose profile language is English.

Managing the file you uploaded

  • Use the Resume options menu to manage your uploaded resume file.
  • Visit the resume options menu page in the Help Center to learn more.

Technical support

Issue: Some sections of my profile are in the wrong language.

Solution: You may be logged in on an Indeed page for a different country. Follow these steps to fix the issue:

  1. Delete the resume file from your profile.
  2. Visit Indeed Worldwide and select the country you're currently in.
  3. Upload your resume file again.

Issue: The content from my resume is uploaded to the wrong sections of my profile.

Solution: If the file you're uploading isn't organized in the traditional format, some of its content may be missing or misplaced. Sign in to your account and edit your profile manually.

Issue: I'm trying to upload a resume file, but it's not working.

Solution: There might be an issue with the file. Try the following:

  1. Check the file format. Not all formats are accepted.
  2. Use a different file.

FAQs

Question: Can I block my current employer from finding my profile on Indeed?

Answer: Yes, you can hide your profile from certain employers. Learn more about blocking employers on Indeed.

Question: Can I update my profile using the resume I uploaded?

Answer: Yes. You can use the Sync to profile feature to update your profile with the details from your uploaded resume. Here are the instructions on how to sync your profile.

Important: If you merged your Glassdoor and Indeed accounts, using Sync to profile will also update your profile on Glassdoor.
