Creating an Account or Signing In

Quick summary

Searching for an easy way to create an Indeed account or sign in? This guide explains the requirements and how to link your Google, Apple or unique email account. You will also find tips for troubleshooting and keeping your account secure.

Important: Always use the same sign-in method you used to create your account. For example, do not sign in using your Apple ID if you created the account with Google.

Requirements to create an account

Age

To create an Indeed account, you must meet Indeed's minimum age requirement for your region:

  • European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Ukraine: 18 years or older.
  • Japan: The minimum age permitted under Japanese law.
  • All other regions: 16 years or older.

What if you do not meet Indeed's minimum age requirements?

We are required to close the account and delete your data from our systems.

Location

  • You must live in a country where Indeed is available.
  • Visit our Worldwide page for a full list of supported countries.

Phone number and email address

Tip: The phone number does not have to match the number on your profile. It does need to meet the requirements below

Your phone number and email address must be

  • Stable
  • Intended for long-term use
  • Yours (not shared with others)
  • Accessible so you can receive important account and security updates

Email addresses you cannot use

  • Email addresses you do not have ongoing access to
  • Disposable or 'temporary' email addresses
    • For example, '10-minute' email services

Phone numbers you cannot use

  • Internet-based (VoIP) numbers that are not linked to a regular phone service or physical address
  • Temporary or 'burner' numbers that expire or are meant for short-term use
  • Numbers generated through apps or websites for quick, short-term use

Creating an account

Google or Apple

Step 1: Start sign-in

  • Google: Click or tap the Google logo, then select Continue with Google.
  • Apple (iPhone only): Click or tap the Apple ID logo, then select Continue with Apple.

Step 2: Complete account setup

  1. Follow the prompts to connect your Google account or Apple ID to Indeed.
  2. Choose Jobseeker and select Create account.
  3. Verify your phone number.
  4. Review your account settings.

What to expect if you use Apple

  • Your Apple ID will appear as something like example@privaterelay.appleid.com.
  • Learn more about Apple's Hide My Email.

Unique email address

If you do not want to use Google or Apple, you can create an account with a unique email.

Email requirements

You must use a stable, permanent email address to create and maintain your account. This helps protect your account and allows you to recover access if needed.

Your email address must:

  • Be intended for long-term use
  • Be protected by a password
  • Support account recovery
  • Come from a trusted provider (such as Gmail, Outlook or Yahoo)

Temporary or disposable ('burner') email addresses are not permitted. These emails often:

  • Expire after minutes or days
  • Come from services like mailinator.com or tempmail.org
  • Do not offer strong security or recovery options

Creating the account

  1. Enter your email address in the Email address field (do not use a Gmail address).
  2. Click or tap Continue.
  3. Check your inbox for an email from Indeed with a one-time passcode (OTP).
  4. Enter this six-digit code.
  5. Click or tap Create account.
  6. Add and verify your phone number.

What to expect

  • We will send a verification link to your email. Check your spam or junk folder if you did not get it.
  • If the link expires, request a new one.
  • Click or tap Confirm your Indeed account, then sign in using your verified email address.

Signing in

Google

  1. Click or tap the Google sign-in logo.
  2. Select the right account if there is more than one linked to your device.

Apple ID

  1. Click Continue with Apple.
  2. If your Apple ID uses a Gmail address, sign in with your Google account instead to avoid confusion.

Verifying your account when you can not sign in

If you can not sign in to your Indeed account and need to update your email address or phone number, we will first need to verify that the account belongs to you.

What we will need

  • The email address currently linked to your account
  • The new email address you would like us to use
  • At least two of the following
    • A recent application (exact company name, job-title and location).
      • If you still have access to your email, search for messages from indeedapply@indeed.com.
    • A recently saved job (exact company name, job-title and location).
    • The most recent position listed on your resume (exact company name, job-title and location).
    • A copy of your resume (PDF, .doc or similar format).
    • The last four digits of the phone number on the account or resume.
Important: We can only complete your request if you provide the required information.

What happens next

  • We will verify that you are the account owner.
  • Once confirmed, we will help update the email address or phone number linked to your account.

If you can not provide the requested details, you may need to create a new account using a different email address.

Technical support

Issue: I need to change the email address. I used Google to create an account.

Solution: Since your Indeed account is linked to your Google account, you must make changes through Google. Visit Google's Help Center for information on using a different email address.

Issue: I am warned that my profile may be in violation of Indeed's guidelines. My profile is no longer visible to employers.

Problem: We may have suspended your account. This could be because you are using a temporary email address or your resume does not meet our Jobseeker guidelines.

Solution: Submit an appeal so that we can review the issue. Here is what we will need from you.

FAQs

Question: Can I merge two Indeed accounts?

Answer: No. Unfortunately, merging accounts is not possible.
