When you create an account on Indeed, we want to be clear about the information employers can access. This page explains what you share with employers when you set your profile settings to “Employers can find you” or when you search and apply for jobs.
Employers can find you
Change your profile privacy status in your profile settings to help employers find you on Indeed. You’ll share the following information:
Contact information
- City and province/territory
- Name, but only after you respond to an employer’s message
Resume
You can upload a resume file or build an Indeed Resume. These are the fields you can complete:
- Work experience
- Education
- Skills
- Certifications
Qualifications
Employers may be able to see your qualifications.
Online status
Employers can see when you edited your profile and when you last visited Indeed.
Searching for a job
Employers can’t access your search history or job alerts, and they don’t have access to your saved jobs.
Applying for a job
When you apply for an employer’s job on Indeed, they’ll have access to the following information:
Location
Employers can see the city and province/territory you provide on your resume.
Phone number
Employers can only access the number on your resume, which may differ from the one linked to your Indeed account.
Indeed alias
We create an email alias to help protect your email. Emails sent to this alias will be delivered to your inbox.
Resume
Employers can see the information on the resume you used to apply.
Qualifications
Employers may be able to see your qualifications.
