As the topic of privacy becomes more important to people and businesses, we want to show you exactly what information employers have access to when you create an account on Indeed.
Profile
Employers do not have access to your Indeed Profile at all. This is kept completely confidential. They are not able to see other jobs you have applied for or any notes that you may have in your account.
Resume
If you’ve applied to an employer's job on Indeed, they will be able to view:
- Your location - The city and state in which you provide on your resume will be accessible to employers.
- Your phone number - The phone number you provide on your resume will be accessible to employers. This may be different from the number you associate with your Indeed account.
- Your Indeed alias - We provide all job seekers with an Indeed auto-generated email address alias to help protect and secure your real email address information. All email communication from employers with your Indeed email alias is still sent directly to your email inbox.
- Your resume - If you’re using your Indeed generated resume, the employer will be able to see any information that you include on your resume, plus the scores of any assessments you’ve taken and chosen to show to employers on your profile. If you’re using a resume that you’ve uploaded yourself, the employer will have access to anything that you’ve included on the resume.
If you’ve made your resume Searchable on Indeed, employers will be able to view the following limited resume information in our resume database:
- Name
- City and State
- Work Experience
- Education
- Skills
- Assessments
- Certifications
If you’ve made your resume Not searchable on Indeed, employers will not be able to access your resume from our database. They will still be able to see your resume if you apply to one of their roles.
Please note: Employers will never be able to see your personal contact information without your explicit stated interest in their role.
