Profile and Preferences: What Do I Share With Employers?

Contact information

  • Name
  • City and state

Photo

Employers can't see your profile photo.

Resume file

Employers will only see your resume file if you share it with them when you apply. These are the optional fields you can complete:

  • Work experience
  • Education
  • Skills
  • Certifications

Qualifications

Employers can't see your qualifications.

Preferences

Employers can see most of your job preferences. They won't see your pay preferences and 'not interested' section.

Important: Employers that received your resume before you changed your profile settings may still have access to your resume details.

Searching for a job

Employers can't access your search history or job alerts, and they don't have access to your saved jobs in My jobs.

Applying for a job

Location

Employers can see the city and state you provide on your resume.

Phone number

Employers can only access the number on your resume, which may differ from the one linked to your Indeed account. 

Indeed alias

We create an email alias to help protect your email. Emails sent to this alias will be delivered to your inbox.

Resume

Employers can see the information on the resume you used to apply.
