When we ask you to verify a phone number

You'll have to verify your phone number to:

• Create an account on Indeed
• Apply for a job

The verified phone number doesn't have to match the number on your profile.

How to verify your mobile number

When you create an account

1. Follow the steps to sign up.
2. Enter your phone number.
3. Click or tap Verify. You'll receive a 6-digit code.
4. Enter the code and Submit.

When you apply

1. Open a job post to access the job details.
2. Click or tap Apply now.
3. Enter your phone number.
4. Click or tap Verify. You'll receive a 6-digit code.
5. Enter the code and Submit it to continue with the application.

In your account settings

1. Open your account settings.
2. Click or tap Add phone.
3. Enter your phone number.
4. Click or tap Verify. You'll receive a 6-digit code.
5. Enter the code and Submit.

What if you don't get a code?

Try one or more of these troubleshooting steps:

1. Change your Do not disturb setting.
   • Unblock any phone numbers from employers in your device's Do not disturb setting.
   • Make sure your Do not disturb setting is also set to Allow Notifications From.
2. Verify that your device is powered on and within cell phone coverage.
   • If the device's signal is weak, turn it off, wait 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
3. Confirm that you are receiving text messages from other services or senders.
4. Check your phone's message memory.

Using a landline phone number to verify your account 

Follow the steps above to verify your number.

• You'll get an automated phone call with your 6-digit code.
• Enter the code and Submit.

Next steps

Your phone number was verified successfully.

You can now create an account on Indeed or complete your application. Your phone number is now in your account settings, and you can change or delete it at any time.
