Product Update: Indeed is Discontinuing Assessments

Quick summary

Beginning in October, skills tests will no longer be offered. Below are sections that will provide you with more information about this announcement:

Assessments will no longer be available.

Beginning in October, Indeed is discontinuing self-serve and employer-requested assessments. At this time, we're not replacing the assessment tool with another one.

Why we're discontinuing this product

We understand you appreciated the assessments; employers did as well. We also received feedback that these skills tests added confusion and extra steps for everyone.

Faced with this tradeoff, we decided to discontinue assessments globally.

At Indeed, we remain committed to you.

You can be confident that we want to connect you to roles that match your qualifications.

That's why we use your profile to match you with employers.

We'll continue to provide employers with tools to identify job seekers like yourself with specific skills and real-world experience.

The most effective tool employers have is your profile. Building your profile may help them understand your skills and find your resume by providing information like:

  • Answers to relevant questions when applying with your profile
  • Work experience
  • Job preferences

What to expect after we remove the skills tests

  • Employers will no longer ask you to take a skills test.
  • If you save a job in My jobs, we'll remove the skills test requirement.
  • Your profile will no longer display current and past assessments.
