Mobile Browsers: Clearing Chrome and Safari's Cache and Cookies

Chrome on mobile devices

Clearing browsing data

  1. Open Google Chrome.
  2. Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser window.
  3. Hover your mouse over More tools to reveal a submenu.
  4. In the submenu, select Clear browsing data.
  5. A new tab will open. You can choose the time range to clear data in the Clear browsing data window. To remove everything, select All Time.

Clearing cookies

  1. Select the Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files checkboxes. You can also choose different types of data to clear if needed.
  2. Click the Clear data button. Chrome will then remove the selected data.

Safari

  1. Open the Settings app on your mobile device.
  2. Scroll down and find Safari.
  3. Tap on Safari. 
  4. Scroll down and tap Clear History and Website Data.
  5. Confirm the action.
