Verifying Your Phone Number

Important: The verified phone number doesn't have to match the number on your profile. It does need to meet our phone number requirements.

When verification is required

You’ll have to verify your phone number to:

  • Create an account on Indeed
  • Apply for a job

The verified phone number doesn’t have to match the number on your profile.

How to verify your phone number

When you create an account

  1. Follow the steps to sign in.
  2. Enter your phone number.
  3. Click or tap Verify. You’ll receive a six-digit code.
  4. Enter the code and Submit.

When you apply

  1. Open a job post to access the job details.
  2. Click or tap Apply now.
  3. Enter your phone number.
  4. Click or tap Verify. You’ll receive a six-digit code.
  5. Enter the code and Submit it to continue with the application.

In your account settings

  1. Open your account settings.
  2. Click or tap Add phone.
  3. Enter your phone number.
  4. Click or tap Verify. You’ll receive a six-digit code.
  5. Enter the code and Submit.

Ways to receive your code

Text message (SMS)

The most common method for verifying your number.

Phone call (including landlines)

You’ll get an automated call with your code.

Important: The verification code is valid for 10 minutes. Click or tap Resend code to get a new notification or phone call.

Next steps

Your phone number was verified successfully.

You can now create an account on Indeed or complete your application. Your phone number is now in your account settings, and you can change or delete it at any time.
