Resetting or Changing a Password

Google account password reset

Find the image that says Continue with Google. Follow the prompts to reset your password according to their guidelines. Their Help Centre has instructions to reset this password if you need to.

Apple ID password change

Important: Reset your password using the same method you used to create your account. An Apple ID may be linked to a social account like Google.

Using Apple ID

  1. Did you create an Indeed account using Apple ID? Find the Apple e-mail alias. It will be in your profile and will look like ggxhhm5bn.appleid.com.
  2. Sign in to your Apple ID account.
  3. Select App-Specific Passwords in the Sign-in & Security section and follow the prompts.

Change the password in your iPhone

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Then go to Sign-in & Security

Follow Apple's Help Centre instructions if you need them.

Unique e-mail password reset

Find the Forgot password link located near Welcome back. This screen will appear after entering your e-mail address.

Confirming the request

  1. Find the subject line Reset your password on Indeed in your e-mail inbox. It's sent from no-reply@indeed.com.
  2. Click or tap Reset password in the confirmation e-mail. The link will take you to your Indeed account.

Is the e-mail missing from your inbox? Check your spam or junk folder and add no-reply@indeed.com to your safe sender list.

Creating a new password

  1. Use our password guidelines to create a strong, secure password.
  2. Enable two-factor authentication.

Verify you're a person

We may ask you to check a box called I am human after confirming your new password. This feature is called Captcha. It secures your account and lets us know you're not a bot.

Sign in again

Once you've created a new password, you'll need to sign in again. We'll send an e-mail confirming you did this.

The subject line is: Your password on Indeed has been changed.

Changing a password in Account settings

  1. Sign in using your existing password.
  2. Click or tap either the menu Three horizontal lines button opens the options menu. or profile icon Person icon opens the options menu..
  3. Select Settings. This will automatically show you your Account settings.
  4. Click or tap Change password.
  5. Add your Current password.
  6. Create a New password and save it. We'll e-mail you to confirm this action.

Technical support

Problem: I'm getting error messages like "An unexpected error occurred" or "Forbidden."

Solution: This is an issue with our system. Can you try again later? We're already looking into the issue.

Problem: I want to bypass CAPTCHA for accessibility reasons.

Solution: You can sign up to skip CAPTCHA. Check your inbox for a verification e-mail, and follow the steps to set up a browser or mobile app cookie.

Problem: I received a password reset request, and I didn't ask for it.

Solution: We recommend changing your password and letting us know. We won't respond to your e-mail, but we'll let our Trust & Safety team know.

FAQs

Question: I can't remember my e-mail address. Can I still reset my password?

Answer: No. You'll need to create a new account if you can't access or verify the e-mail address. It's against the law for us to track personal information like passwords, so we can't recover existing passwords.

Question: Can I reset my password using a phone number?

Answer: No, not at this time. We're currently testing this feature in other countries. It's something we hope to make available to everyone.
