Changing Your Account Email Address and Phone Number

Changing your email address

Important: You may encounter 2FA while changing your email address. Make sure your phone number is up to date before you change your email address.

Desktop

  1. Sign in to your Indeed account.
  2. Go to your account settings.
  3. Click Change email.
  4. Enter your new email address.
  5. Click Update email.
  6. We'll send a passcode to the new email's inbox. Type it in the Enter code box.
  7. Select Continue to confirm the email address change.

Mobile

  1. In your Profile, tap the menu bar and select Settings.
  2. Tap Account settings.
  3. Under Email, tap the Change email button.
  4. Enter your New email address and tap Update email.
  5. Check your new email's inbox for a code. Type it in the Enter code box.
  6. Tap Continue.

Updating your phone number

Desktop

  1. Sign in to your Indeed account.
  2. Go to your account settings.
  3. Click Change phone number and enter the new number.
  4. Click Verify.
  5. When you receive the code, type it in the Enter code box and Submit.

Mobile

  1. In your Profile, tap the menu bar and select Settings.
  2. Tap Account settings.
  3. Under Phone number tap the Change phone number button.
  4. Enter your new number and tap Verify.
  5. Check your text messages for a code. Type it in the Enter code box.
  6. Tap Submit.
Important: Click Not now if you can't access the verification code right away. You'll still need to Verify phone number from your account settings before the change can be processed.

Technical support

Issue: I received an error message when trying to change my email.

Solution: This likely means there's already an account associated with the new email address you entered. We cannot merge accounts, so you'd need to close the account tied to the address you entered before completing the change email process.

Issue: I no longer have access to the email associated with my Indeed account.

Solution: Click or tap Don't have access to this email to update your email. We'll send a verification code to the phone number in your account settings. Then, you can change your email address.

Issue: I can't find the Change email button in my account settings

Solution: It's possible you have an employer account as well as a job seeker account. Contact us using the form below so that we can help.

Issue: I need to change my email, but I can't get past 2-step verification because I no longer have access to the phone number.

Solution: Change the phone number in your account settings. If you aren't able to sign in, contact us and we can remove the number tied to your account.

Question: I need help remembering my email. Can I still sign in?

Answer: No. You'll need to create a new account if you can't access or verify your email.

Question: I changed the phone number on my profile. Does this also update my account settings?

Answer: No. Update the phone number from your account settings to change the number tied to your account.

Question: I've linked my Indeed and Glassdoor accounts. If I change my phone number on Indeed, will it also update on Glassdoor?
